Origin
Döner kebab (döner means 'turns' in Turkish) is an origin Turkish meat dish of seasoned lamb. Sometimes other types of meat are also used, such as veal, chicken or turkey. The bars are heated while rotating on a standing grill and cut into flat pieces with a special knife or an electric slicer. It is then served, for example, as a dish, sandwich or dürüm. The traditional drink that is drunk in Turkey is ayran.
A significant portion of the doner kebab comes from Germany. Döner kebab is mainly sold with Sandwiches, or in durum rolled. As the inventor of this dish, Cadir Nurman (1934-2013), who served his first döner kebab sandwiches in Berlin in 1972. The official Turkish spelling is döner kebabı.
